On December 18,2024, Carole Rahn passed away peacefully surrounded by family members. Carole was born on February 12, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois to Edgar V and Helen M Erickson. She is survived by her husband, Wendell and her children, Julia (Nancy) and Marilee (Rich) and her cherished grandchildren, Alden, Bryce, Carmen and her sister, Lynn (David) Schur and brother, John (Cher) Erickson.
During 1986 Carole and her family moved from Mount Prospect, Illinois to Carmel, Indiana.
After earning a BS Education degree from Valparaiso University in 1965 and a MS degree from Roosevelt University in 1987 she dedicated her 40-year career to educating elementary age children with emphasis on those children with special needs.
Carole has been a devoted member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. She has been very active with the church’s Social Ministry.
One of Carole’s life goals was to write a book. As of April 2024, this dream was realized with the publishing of “Anna’s Journey”, a story about her Great Aunt’s immigration from Sweden to the United States in 1893.
A service celebrating Carole’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at King of Glory Lutheran Church, where family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to King of Glory Lutheran Church (Attn: Social Ministry Committee) 2201 E. 106th Street Carmel, IN 46032.
