Carole Medley Allen
70, Indianapolis, died February 12, 2013. Carole was born June 10, 1942 in Baltimore Maryland to the late John Elmer Medley, Sr and Laura Brandau Medley.
Carole is best known as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Her family was a significant part of her life. Her hobbies included gardening, genealogy, sewing, cooking, traveling, and entertaining family and friends.
Carole enjoyed history and research. She worked as a researcher for the Indiana Historical Bureau. She was also passionate about singing with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir.
Her gift was her ability to touch each person's life that she met through her selfless and caring personality. Her compassionate nature for others was never-ending. Whether a neighbor, a close friend or a family member, Carole was always there to help. It was truly her gift.
She had a continuous and great devotion for her family. Carole is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Norris E. Allen; daughter, Carrie Allen (Evan Thayer) of Portola Valley, California; brother, Rev. John Elmer Medley, Jr (Barbara) of Lauderhill, Florida; grandchildren, Jack and Lucy Thayer. Family and friends may call Sunday February 17, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Flanner & Buchanan - Washing ton Park North , 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, Indiana 46228. A celebration of life service will follow at 4 p.m.
