Carol Sue Sheely

Carol Sue Walter Sheely, 65 of New Palestine, passed away on January 21, 2021 with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 9, 1955 in Des Moines, IA to the late Carter and Dorothy Walter. Carol loved to spend time outside. She was an expert gardener with the ultimate green thumb. After moving to Indianapolis in 1988 with her husband, Doug and four kids, she began working at Warren Township School systems where she remained in various positions for nearly 30 years, while at Warren, Carol developed many lifelong friendships with her many coworkers and students. Above all, Carol loved her family. Her kind heart and warm smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Doug; daughter, Kristen (Brad) Hasseld; sons, Michael, Scott, and Kurt Sheely; grandchildren, Kayla, Riley and Bailey Hasseld, and Hunter and Carter Sheely; and sisters, Ruth (Stan) Leeson of Hugo, MN, and Dodie (John) Hawks of Ames, IA.

There will be a private memorial service for Carol on Friday January 29, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. Memorial contributions may be made to Lary’s Speakeasy.
