Carol J. Powell, a devoted Christian and loving soul, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in Anderson, Indiana. Born on October 10, 1938, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Carol's life was a testament to faith, family, and the quiet strength found in devotion.

A woman whose heart was rooted deeply in her Christian faith, Carol found great comfort and joy in reading her Bible daily. Her spiritual commitment was a guiding light not only in her own life but also for those fortunate enough to know her. She embraced the role of grandmother with a special tenderness, cherishing every moment spent with her many grandchildren. Her love for family was her proudest accomplishment, and it was in this circle of warmth and care that she found her greatest fulfillment.

Carol was a beloved wife to the late Harvey Powell Sr. and a loving mother to her dear daughter Theresa Butrum, whose memory she honored throughout her life.

She leaves behind her devoted sons: Harvey Powell Jr. and his wife Leslie, John Powell, and Steven Powell alongside his wife Susie. Grandchildren John Powell Jr., Karissa Powell, Katelyn Powell, Kameron Powell, Kaleb Powell, Benjamin Stroud, Eva Powell, Lucas Stroud, Matthew Powell and Joseph Powell. Along with 8 wonderful great grandchildren. Together with her family, Carol’s presence will be sorely missed, yet her legacy of love, faith, and family unity will endure.

Her loving family mourns the loss of a remarkable woman whose kindness and steadfast faith inspired those around her. Carol J. Powell’s life stands as a shining example of devotion — to her beliefs, her family, and to the values she held most dear. Though she has departed from this world, the memory of her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
