Carl Strain

Carl Eston Strain, II of Zionsville died from injuries sustained in an accident when he was riding with Mars Hill Charity Riders Sept. 18, 2010. He was born in Greencastle, IN on August 16, 1965 to Carl E. Strain and Norma M. Harrison Strain. Carl attended Zionsville High School and was a graduate of Munster High School. He wrestled and played football at both schools. Carl was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. He married Sherry L. Proctor on June 1, 1990. She and their daughter Breanne preceded Carl in death. Carl was a long-time employee and district manager of Professional Staff Management (Lazy Boy). He was a member of Sons of the American Legion, Post 79, American Legion Riders, and was an officer with Mars Hill Charity Riders. Carl is survived by his mother, Norma M. Smith; his father and step-mother Carl and Verdeen Strain; his sister and brother-in-law Brenda and David Stone and their children Heather and Brandon; half brothers and sisters Justice St. Rain, Judson Strain, Susan Glaser, Francel Strain, Melodie Taylor, Kathy Strain, Elizabeth St. Rain; and many nieces and nephews. Calling will be Wednesday, Sept.22, 2010 from 4 to 8 pm at Flanner and Buchanan Zionsville Funeral Center. Services will be Thursday, Sept. 23 at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery.
