Carl Seals

Carl Seals, Jr. 88, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Indianapolis. Carl was born July 30, 1925 in Jacksonville, Florida to Carl and Ara Alta (Carleton) Seals. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving during World War II, where he was a Boatswain's Mate, operating landing craft in the Pacific. Following the War, he worked for the Army Finance Center in Lawrence, Indiana until retiring in 1980. A father of two, he is survived by brother Jack Seals (Diana), sister Evelyn Watson (Russell), daughter Sandra Grepp (David), son Carl Seals III (Diane), and grandchildren Elizabeth Grepp, Michael Grepp, Allison Crowe (Mike), Leslie Bonawitz (Nick) and Isaac Seals. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 52 years, Rosemary (Hanson) Seals, who he met in St. Louis following the War. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis with visitation from Noon until service time. Burial will be held Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis with military honors.
