Carl Norman"Joe" Baker 87, of Indianapolis, IN, dear husband, father and grandfather, died in his home on Thursday September 12. Carl was born on April 1, 1926 in Holton, IN to the late Everett and Gladys Baker.
Carl served in the U.S. Army Air Core as Military Police. He worked at Rex Metal Craft for over thirty years, and retired from Eagle Magnetic after thirty years of service as a sheet metal model maker.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lavon (Bonnie Baker) and five children; George (Malinda) Baker, Pamela (Terry) Burkhardt, Carla (David) Littlejohn, Darlene (Ed) Spaulding, Kenneth (Kandy) Baker; thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
He enjoyed gardening and spending time in his yard. Above all, he loved being surrounded by his family and friends. Carl was an inspiration to many and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Decatur Township at 5463 Kentucky Avenue. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 15 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
