Calvin J. Ohlson

Calvin J. "Cal" Ohlson Passed away on his birthday, April 14, 2013. He was 88 years old. Cal was born in Rockford, IL to Raymond and Esther Ohlson. He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Shurz High School. He immediately enlisted in the Navy and serves his country in the Pacific during WWII. He then attended Wright Business College and embarked on a career in finance. He served as president of several finance companies as well as opening various businesses. He entered the life insurance business and quickly qualified for membership in The Million Dollar Round Table. He retired as Vice President of Marketing at Standard Life of Indiana. Family was everything to Cal Ohlson. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his death. He is survived by Mary P. Ohlson, his wife of 63 years; sons, Raymond J. (Ann) Ohlson, James W. (Lynn) Ohlson; daughter, Kathleen A. (Mark) Pollock; grandchildren, Justin W. (Alison) Ohlson, Nicholas R. (Jessica) Ohlson, Joseph R. (Taria) Ohlson, Lindsey M. (Marshall) Charlesworth, Kiley A. (Nathan) Leong, Christina A. DeWitt; four great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17 in Flanner and Buchanan - Carmel . Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Chapel at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
