C. L. 'Chuck' Walters

July 24, 1932 — August 17, 2011

C.L. Chuck Walters passed away Wednesday August 17, 2011. He was born July 24, 1932 to James and Della Walters. He was a graduate of Ben Davis High School and Dwyer School of Business. He was a U S Navy veteran. He and his business partner Bill Alford (also deceased) were the original developers, owners and operators of Midwest Softball, Indianapolis. He was a member of Softball Owners and Directors of America, National Softball Association and Indiana NSA Hall of Fame. Chuck was a member of Plainfield Christian Church where he was active in Upward Basketball, Outdoor Ministries, and Senior Golden Glow Ministries. Chuck loved his Lord, his wife Marlene, his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish and attend his grandchildren’s sporting events. He is survived by his loving wife Marlene, Sister Jody Allison (Jim, deceased), sons, Mark (Joyce) Walters, Paul (Teresa) Walters, daughters, Debbie Deem (companion, Doug Bohnert), Patty (Brent) Geisler, grandchildren, Bethany (Scott) Willard, Blake Walters, Nicholas Walters, Zachary Walters, and Wyatt Geisler. Services will be held at Plainfield Christian Church 800 Dan Jones Road Plainfield, IN on Monday August 22, 2011 at 10 AM with visitation there Sunday August 21st 4-8 PM and Monday 1 hour prior to the service. The family wishes to express their thanks to St. Vincent Hospice for the loving care given to Chuck and his family. In lieu of flowers the family would request contributions be made to Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield, IN 46168 or Johnson University, 7900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, TN 37998.
