Age 71, of Fishers, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016. Kent, as he was commonly known, was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 6, 1945 to the late James T. and Beulah (Mills) Maxfield. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star. Kent attended Butler University prior his service and was a 1981 graduate of Indiana University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business. During his career, Kent worked in corporate real estate, retiring in 2006 from Arby’s Restaurants. Kent attended Geist Christian Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Study Group "The Bridge". He was also a member of Vet to Vet, Prison Ministry, and Sigma Nu.

Kent leaves his beloved family to cherish his memory: daughters, Laura Groom (Jeff), Lisa Maxfield and Cheri Weisheit (Brent); grandchildren: Denise (Maxfield) Villarreal, Holly (Tabor) Sheedy, Amanda Tabor, Matt Groom, Abby Groom, and Hannah Weisheit; great-grandchildren: Easton and Eleanor Sheedy; siblings: Ron (Patty) and Carol (Jack) Noffsinger; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Friends may call from 4pm until 8pm, on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis). Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Geist Christian Church, 8550 Mud Creek Road, Indianapolis. Entombment with military honors will follow his services in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Geist Christian Church, Attn: Missions or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
