Brun E. Hammer

Brun E. Hammer, 77, Plainfield, passed away February 25, 2014. He was born July 13, 1936 in Thompkinsville, KY, the son of Granger and Clonia (Purdue) Hammer. Brun had worked for Bryant and also Stewart Warner. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, and also had a fondness for bluegrass music. Brun also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Elezer Hammer and Rocky Hammer, and his sisters, Nadine Carter, Earline Roberson, and Becky Dubree. Brun is survived by his wife, Mary Hammer; his brother, Uriah Hammer; his brothers-in-law, Edward Dubree and Bill Whitmer (Linda); his sister-in-law, Barbara Hindman; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be on Saturday, March 1 at 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, with visitation from 11 AM until service time. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society- Indiana Chapter.
