Bruce D. Swenson

69, of Indianapolis, passed away May 23, 2016. Bruce was born in Canton, Illinois, on April 26, 1947 to the late, Russell V. and Helen (Cavanaugh) Swenson. He retired from Navistar in 2009, after 44 years of service. He later went on to work for Eli Lily. He was a Commander of the V.F.W. Post #261, and member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, and motorcycles.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Christine Sokol; and a grandson, Justin Swenson. He is survived by: his wife, Teresa (Dalrymple) Swenson, whom he married on May 23, 1992; his sons: Thomas (Susie) and Donald (Sharna); grandsons: Devon (Jennifer), Austin, and Kyle; granddaughters, Monica Mosbaugh (Jerry), Kimberly Delello, Erica Osborne (Evan), Casey Needham; great-grandchildren: McKinley Mosbaugh, and two on the way; and his brothers, Victor (Chris) and Murray (Sharon).

Calling will be held from 4pm until 8pm on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral service will be held there on Saturday, May 28 at 1pm, with burial to follow at Oaklandon Cemetery.
