Brittany Ruthann Hammond

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brittany R. Hammond.

Brittany was born on March 20, 1990, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Amy Beck and James Hammond.

If there was one thing everyone knew about Brittany, it was that she was unapologetically herself. From the time she was young until the very end, she was a true firecracker. She never hesitated to tell you exactly how she felt, and you always knew where you stood with her. Her honesty, fierce loyalty, and protective nature made her someone you could always count on. If you needed someone in your corner, Brittany was there.

She found joy in life's simple moments. Every weekend, she loved spending time with her mom, hunting for treasures at yard sales. She enjoyed making TikTok videos, whether she was sharing a shopping haul, talking about her day, or singing along to one of her favorite songs. Her music taste had no limits—from old-school classics to rap and country—and anyone who followed her knew she wasn't shy about singing every word.

Brittany also loved doing her makeup and styling her hair, and she was famous for "borrowing" anything of her mom's without asking. Her favorite response when she got caught was always, "What's yours is mine," a phrase that still brings a smile to those who loved her.

She shared a special bond with her dog, Taz, who loved nothing more than curling up beside her on the couch and reminding her it was time to go outside.

Above all else, Brittany's greatest love was being a mother to her four children. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she found so much happiness in making the holiday magical for her children, always wanting to give them everything she could.

Brittany wore many titles throughout her life—daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend—and she embraced each one with love. With a family that included nearly a hundred cousins, she never met a stranger for long. Anyone who knew Brittany will forever remember her signature expression: "PERIOD." It was uniquely her and hearing it will always bring back memories of her bold spirit and unforgettable personality.

Brittany was preceded in death by her father, James Hammond.

She leaves behind her loving mother, Amy Beck; her grandmother, Ruthie Hammond; her brothers, Richard and Tony Beck; and her beloved children, Kayden, Mattelyn, Colt Connelly, and Raylee Stinson. She also leaves behind her extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory forever.

Though her time with us was far too short, Brittany's love, laughter, strength, and unmistakable spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9th, 2026 at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229), from 4pm to 8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 10th, 2026 beginning at 12pm. Participants are encouraged to arrive at 11:30am. Brittany will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery immediately to follow.
