Brian Scott Lucas, 45, Indianapolis, passed away January 17, 2013. Brian was born September 15, 1967 in Waukegan, Illinois. He graduated from Poway High School and Vincennes University. He served in the US Army, where he was a military police investigator with 95 BRAVO and a communication specialist with the Indiana National Guard. Brian had served as a police officer and detective with the Lawrence Police Department, where he was a member of their SWAT team. Brian was member of Geist Christian Church and the Fraternal Order of Police. Brian was a Notre Dame fan who enjoyed sports and NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, Juliette (Hoagland) Lucas; daughters, Kathryne M. Lucas and Emma Lee Lucas; mother and step-father, Diane and John Denhalter; father and step-mother, John and Grace Lucas; grandparents, Val and Phyllis Fonk; five brothers, two sisters, step-brother, step-sister; uncle, Richard Powell; mother-in-law, Ann Aquilone; and his brother and sister-in-law. Services will be held on Monday, January 21 at 10:30 AM at Geist Christian Church, 8550 Mud Creek Road. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 19 from 2-7 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East in the Community Life Center, 10622 E. Washington Street. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Emma Lucas Education Fund, c/o Amy Begley, The National Bank of Indianapolis, 6807 E. 82nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
