Brian Earl Berry (76) passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026 in the presence of his beloved wife of 57 years and to the soft strains of their longtime love song,
.Perhaps no song could tell Brian and Brenda’s love story better than “God Only Knows”. It was their song through the years, and fittingly, the last song Brian heard as Brenda remained by his side.
Born to Hugh and Mary Ann (Blessing) on November 15, 1949, Brian grew up In Indianapolis where he graduated from Emmerich Manual High School, Class of ‘68. Ever true to his school, there he met the love of his life, Brenda (Cox), attended IU…and then asked her to be his bride and always be right by his side...they married on June 6, 1969.
Brian & Brenda spent 60 happy years together and a life built on family, faith, work and community. They were blessed with 3 sons: Jeffrey Wayne, Eric Scott and Michael William and two gracious and gorgeous granddaughters; Emma and Ashlynne, who brought so much joy into his life.
Known as an astute and successful businessman, entrepreneur, and patent holder, Brian worked at Uniset Fastening Systems for many years, rising to the rank of National Sales Manager. In 1989, he and two business partners founded Masterset Fastening Systems which they later sold to a company in Californ-i-a. 2002 saw the beginning of a new venture, MDC Marketing (a Manufacturer’s Rep Agency), which Brian and Brenda’s Son, Michael, now successfully oversees.
Brian was a man of varied interests and pursuits…a willing and tireless worker who regularly volunteered (among other things) his audio expertise by heading up Sound Crews for High School productions. He also had a passion for cars, NASCAR, dirt track racing, fishing, music, and photography. In fact, it was Brian’s lifelong love of picture taking which led to his recruitment to photograph his all-time favorite band, The Beach Boys! At Al Jardine’s behest, Brian photographed “The Boys” for years with many of his shots featured in album liners, books and tour programs! Over time, The Berrys and their sons got around and enjoyed numerous Beach Boys shows while forming many long-lasting and treasured friendships…including with the band members themselves.
In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his loving Sister, Mary Louise Berry and his beloved Sons, Jeffrey Wayne and Eric Scott.
He is survived by his devoted Wife, Brenda, Son, Michael (Megan) and Granddaughters Emma (Mason) and Ashlynne as well as his Brother, John (Alice) and Niece, Kate (RJ). Brian was also particularly close with his Brother-In-Laws, Sister-In-Law, Nieces and Nephews. He will be remembered fondly as a strong, loving, fun and generous Son, Husband, Father, Pappaw, Brother, Brother-In-Law and Uncle and this whole world and many of us in it… are better because of him…God really knew.
