Brannon "Banny" R. Kocher, 82, Indianapolis, passed away May 15, 2014. He was born November 10, 1931, in Lockbourne, Ohio, the son of the late Chester Edwin and Medrith (Fout) Kocher. He married Joyce (Dwyer) Kocher August 30 1952, and she preceded him in passing March 27, 1979. He later married Brenda K. Kocher on June 18, 1981, and she preceded him in passing on July 6, 1994.
Banny served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1950-1954. He later retired as plumber after serving at Winona and Wishard Hospitals. He was a member of the Lowell Beaver American Legion #470 and the VFW Post 2999. He enjoyed watching WWE and westerns, fishing, and playing horseshoes, Euchre, and word puzzles.
He is survived by his five daughters, Deborah O'Neal, Betty Joan Durham, Terry Smith, Alyce (Brian) Halper, Cindy Rader; three step-sons, John (Tammy) Watson, Jack Watson, Jeff (Katrina) Watson; 23 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; siblings, Joretta Valero, Fred Kocher, Lou Cockrell, and Jerry Kocher. He was preceded in death by two sons, John Brannon Kocher and Robert Duane Kocher; brother, Stanley Kocher; and a great granddaughter.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com.
