Brandon K. Brewer 50, Indianapolis, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born to Kenneth Sr. and Esther Brewer on March 9, 1961. Brandon accepted Christ at a young age.
Brandon was a 1979 graduate of Jennings County High School, North Vernon, Indiana. He was a member of the varsity football and wrestling teams and student council president. As an undergraduate student at Ball State University, Brandon was an offensive lineman and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
He began his law enforcement career as a Howard County Probation Officer, Kokomo, Indiana. While developing his career in Howard County, Brandon completed a Master's of Science Degree in Executive Development for Public Service from Ball State University. In 1990, Brandon accepted a position with the United States Federal Courts as a Pre-Trial/Probation Officer for the Southern District of Indiana (Indianapolis).
He was an active member of New Life Worship Center, Indianapolis. He also served as a mentor and Big Brother throughout his life. Brandon was a Phi Beta Sigma fraternity member. Brandon possessed a love for all things historical, poetry writing and photography. Brandon was a devoted and loving husband, son, son-in-law and brother. He is well-loved by so many family, friends and co-workers. He is known as the gentle-giant who captures your heart with his "big smile."
He is survived by his wife, Tracey Bledsoe-Brewer, formerly of Richmond, IN. He also leaves to cherish his memory, younger brother, Darrin Brewer (DorisAnn); younger sister, Falicia Brewer (Michael); nieces; nephews; cousins; co-workers and friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Kenneth Brewer, Sr., Esther Brewer and older brother, Kenneth Brewer, Jr.
Services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Noon in New Life Worship Center (Central Campus), 3425 Boulevard Place, Indianapolis, Indiana 46206, with viewing to take place from 10 a.m. until Noon. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46228.
