Brady Justice

December 26, 1930 — November 23, 2014

J Brady Richmond Justice, Jr. December 26, 1930 – November 23, 2014 Brady Richmond Justice, Jr. passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 while on a visit to Dallas, Texas. He left this earth while surrounded by loving family at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas. Brady was 83 at the time of death. He resided in Indianapolis with his wife, Sandra G. Justice. They enjoyed having a residence in Dallas to share life and memories with family and friends during the winter months. Brady was born in Albertville, Alabama to Brady Richmond Justice, Sr. and Kate McEachern Justice on December 26, 1930. He was one of four children. Brady left Alabama to attend Baylor University where he graduated in 1953 with a degree in Accounting. Upon graduation, Brady moved to Dallas to accept a position with Arthur Anderson & Co. Brady met Sandra Gearner at Lakewood Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas, fell madly in love, and married her there on December 29, 1956. They shared a beautiful, God-centered marriage for 57 years. Brady also loved his Baylor Bears and attended many homecoming weekends, alumni events, and helped to fund many scholarship opportunities for other Baylor students. In fact, he attended his last Baylor football game sitting in President Starr's box the evening before his passing. The highlight of his trip was to experience the new McLane Stadium and have the opportunity to see his Bears win. At the end of the game, he proudly sang "That Good Old Baylor Line" with his big, beautiful, baritone voice. Brady became a manager in the tax department of Arthur Anderson in 1958, and was admitted to the partnership in 1965. Subsequently, Brady was transferred from Dallas to become the partner-in-charge of the tax division of Arthur Anderson's Indianapolis office. Brady had been a CPA, licensed by the State of Indiana, the State of Texas and various other states. During his time at Arthur Anderson & Co., he served on numerous professional society committees including Chairman of the State Tax Committee and Chairman of the State Ethics Committee. In 1972, Brady joined Ethan and Frank Jackson as an associate in their various business endeavors. Together they founded Basic American Medical, Inc. where he served as President since its inception. In 1992, Basic American Medical, Inc. merged with Columbia Hospital Corporation. Brady served as Senior Vice President and was a member of the Board of Directors until stepping down from those positions. In addition, Brady participated in various civic and church affairs. He was President of the Downtown Lions Club, Director of the Indianapolis Speech and Hearing Centers, Indianapolis Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement and the United Way Allocation Committee. Previously in his life, he served on the Board of the Baptist Standard and Radio/TV Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. Most importantly, Brady loved his church. When joining Northside Baptist Church, Indianapolis, IN, in 1965, he immersed himself in its growth and efforts to reach the community for Christ. He loved his God with a passion that enabled him to serve in many ministries. He served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, deacon, and leader of various committees of the church. He was a very generous giver of his many talents, time, and monies. Because of Brady's love for the Lord, he had a passionate and fierce love for his family. There was nothing more he would rather be doing than to love on them. Brady is survived by his wife, Sandra, sons David (Vicki) and Mike, and daughter Lori Blankenship (David), seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Justice. Brady is also survived by his sister Jane Collins (Stephen) and his nephew, nieces, and their families. Donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church's Food Pantry. Brady had a passion for this ministry. While we his family will miss his contagious laughter, huge smile, and love of life, we take great comfort and peace in knowing we will see him again one day in Heaven. There is no doubt of that! All who had the opportunity of knowing him loved him. We are sure that when he entered the gates of heaven, he heard these words: "…well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:23 (KJV) You are invited to go to the Guest Book page to pass along your personal message or tell a story. Sincerely, -Your friends at Flanner and Buchanan
