Bradley Douglas Schildknecht

Brad, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, passed suddenly August 1^st, 2023, at the age of 62. A graduate of Arlington High School and Indiana University. He worked his way from managing restaurants to becoming a business owner and ultimately a Mortgage Loan Officer for Huntington National Bank. A man of faith and a member of College Park Church, who was known for his kindness, consideration, positive energy and zest for life which was contagious.  He brought enthusiasm to everything he was a part of, whether traveling globally with his wife and enjoying live music, supporting his daughter’s love for music, coaching his son’s baseball team, or hosting get-togethers with friends and family are just a few examples which Brad always cherished.

He was passionate about fishing, playing cards, and sports, as he was an avid Colts and Chicago Cubs fan. He was always quick to reference his favorite movies and crack a well-timed joke. A man dedicated to his family and friends, he was always open to a meal or a drink to spend quality time with loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Cage; his daughter, Logan (Walker) Byers; his two sons, Dylan Schildknecht and Joshua Schildknecht; three sisters, Robin Gilmour, Susan (Mike) Weber, and Trisha Schildknecht; nieces, Ashley Baker Wethington, Lindsey Weber, Alyssa Stott, and Cheyenne Leahy; stepchildren, Diana (Jeremy) Welch and Spencer Cage. He was predeceased by his mother, Peggy Schildknecht; and father, Claude L. Schildknecht.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to JDRF and Carmel Dads’ Club.

A brief memorial service will be at 3:00 pm Friday, September 8, 2023, with a Celebration of Life Gathering following until 6:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road.
