Bonnie Ruth Dale

Bonnie Ruth Dale, 69, Westfield Indiana, passed away August 31st, 2017. She was born on September 8th 1947 in Charleston, Illinois to Robert and Alice Smyser.

Bonnie grew up in Charleston and attended Eastern Illinois University before accepting a job with Delta. She went on to marry her husband, Frank Dale on July 30th, 1971 in Miami FL before moving to Indianapolis.

An ardent believer in servant leadership, Bonnie lived a life of service. In addition to tirelessly supporting multiple charities and service organizations, she was the two time President of Westfield Youth Soccer and the executive director of Indiana Youth Soccer. Bonnie was recognized as WFYI’s volunteer of the year, inducted into the Indiana Youth Soccer Hall of Fame, and honored as a Distinguished Hoosier by Governor Frank O’Bannon.

Throughout her life Bonnie never lost her capacity to smile and laugh nor to inspire others with her warmth, kindness, and love.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Frank Dale, her two sons Frank and Doug (Alicia) Dale, and her three grandsons, Jack, Alex, and Beckett. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gary Smyser.

The family is grateful to the Community Hospital Oncology service, the doctors, nurses and caregivers, particularly Dr Agarwala, her oncologist, who provided compassionate medical care. We are also grateful to the Community Hospital Hospice team, particularly Carrie Dunn, RN, whose caring touch made things better during her final days.
