Bonita Lucille Boles Uhrig, 101, died Tuesday, August 9. Thedaughter of the late Zakariah Jackson Boles and Elsie Crandall Boles, she wasborn in Marion, Indiana on December 7, 1914.
Losing her mother when she was 5, she, her dad and brotherMax, moved in with her grandmother. When her dad and brother moved to Ft.Wayne, Bonnie moved in with her aunt and uncle. She graduated from Marion HighSchool in 1932. She had several jobs in Marion. She married Harold Uhrig on June28, 1936. They were married 73 years until Harold’s death in 2009.
Bonnie was a homemaker and entered the work force when herchildren were in high school working in business research at Indiana BellTelephone Company where she retired in 1980. She was a member of DAR and 50+year member of OES chapter of Eastern Star. She served as a Deaconess at FirstMeridian Heights Presbyterian Church and worked tirelessly for the PresbyterianWomen. She loved her family, and her many friends. She always had a smile onher face and quietly let you know how she felt while flashing those dimples.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Carol A. Rader and JamesF. Uhrig; grandson, Gene Rader, and great-grandson, Reece Rader.
Friends are invited to call from 4-8 p.m., Friday, August12, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Broad Ripple with an EasternSTAR service being held at 7:30 pm. Friends may also call from 10:30 am untiltime for the funeral at 12:30 pm on Saturday, August 13. Interment will followin Washington Park North Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toFirst Meridian Heights Presbyterian Women or Indianapolis Humane Society.
