Blanche J. Prevedel Vawter Neal

Blanche J. Prevedel Vawter Neal Blanche passed away peacefully on 10 February 2015 at the age of 90 years at Forest Creek Village, Indianapolis, Indiana. She suffered from Alzheimer's dementia. Blanche was born 29 July 1924 in Superior, Wyoming. Her father was Giuseppe (Joe) Prevedel, born in Brez, Travasara, Trentino, Austria (now Italy) 16 February 1893 and mother was Anna Avancini, born 12 December 1897 in Cambria, Weston, Wyoming. She spent her childhood in Wyoming and, in the 1930's, after the death of her father, her widowed mother returned to Brez with her four children Irene, Virginia, Blanche, and Flavio. All but Irene returned to the United States after World War II and settled in Indianapolis, Indiana, where Blanche married Robert D. Vawter, a conductor on the New York Central (Pennsylvania) Railroad. Blanche was a homemaker and Avon representative for many years. She loved to travel and went back to Italy many times joined by her family; husband, daughters, sister, brother, brother-in-law, nieces, son-in-law and his mother, and a grandchild. She also liked quilting, bowling, and playing cards. Later in life, after the death of her husband Bob, she married Kenneth Neal, moved to Florida and then Headland, AL, finally returning to Indianapolis shortly before her death. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert D. Vawter, daughter Loretta, second husband Kenneth Neal, her sisters Irene and Virginia (Donald Stafford) and brother Flavio and his twin, Fabio. She is survived by her daughter Laura (William Trujillo), Santa Fe, NM, grandson Chadwick (Tara), great grandson Evan, Hilo HI; son-in-law Neil Schwarzwalder (Loretta) Indianapolis, IN, grandson Paul (Jami), Puyallup, WA, grand daughter Sarah (David Otto), great granddaughter Nadia, Indianapolis, IN; son Charles (Mary), Colorado Springs, CO; nieces Linda Stafford (Dennis Huxley), Tina Stafford (Bill Lockhart), nephew Robert Stafford (Bonnie) all of Indianapolis, IN plus additional grand nephews and nieces. Friends may visit with Blanche's family from 11 AM until service time at 1 PM Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Entombment will follow at the Vawter Family crypt at Washington Park East Cemetery.
