Bina Louise Lane

July 3, 1924 — April 7, 2021

Avon, Indiana

Bina Louise Lane, 96, Avon, IN, was welcomed to her Heavenly home on April 7, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Eva (Carroll) Fleenor, all 11 siblings, and husband Tom Lane.

Bina was born on July 3, 1924, in Sneedville, TN.

Bina is survived by her 2 “girls”, as they were always introduced, Sue (Stan) Malless of Avon, IN and Lisa (Tim) Deno of Bargersville, IN. She had five grandchildren; Matthew Malless, Tony (Alyssa) Malless, Mandy (Todd) Blanton, Dylan (Tori) Lawson, and Jaxson Deno as well as 2 great grandsons; Isaiah and Jericho.

In the early 1940’s she worked at Wm. H. Block Co. as one of the prestigious elevator girls and in sales. After her marriage to Tom, she stayed home and worked as a housewife and mother. In January of 1965, they opened the first Datsun dealership in the midwest. She was Tom’s #1 support person. When no one could get cars to sell, she had a way of making sure Indy’s oldest Datsun dealer had as much supply as possible.

Bina was the hostess with the mostess; a fabulous cook, great bartender, and incredible story teller. As a guest in her home, no one left without a full stomach (she always cooked for an army) and a new joke. She was the life of the party and loved by all. One of her favorite pastimes was gardening. Her lawn and flower beds were always meticulous.

Visitation will be held at Flanner & Buchanan Washington Park East from 12-2pm on Friday, April 9 with service immediately following.

Donations can be made in her name to Stand For Health Freedom or the VFW (10550 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46236).
