Billy G. Brooks

Billy G. Brooks, age 90, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, surrounded by family. Billy was born on Monday, September 3rd, 1934 in Macon County Lafayette, TN to Reggie Brooks and Hallie Hopkins Brooks Woods. He graduated from Macon County High School in 1953. He married Myrtle Sawyers in 1955, Natalie Wood in 1985 and Dorothy Barlow in 2016. He was a member of the Indianapolis Masonic Lodge #669, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was involved in the DeMolays. Billy was Head of Maintenance at Lilly Industrial Coatings and retired in 1996. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, traveling, photography and antiques. He was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church. Over the years Billy has lived in Indiana, Arizona & Arkansas. While living in Arkansas, Billy & Natalie enjoyed serving Meals on Wheels and had antique booths.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brooks of 8 years, 4 children; Jerry, Terrie (Kent) Edwards, Billy, & Willy (Susy) Brooks. Step-children; Mike (Rose) Christy, Tom (Anita) Christy, Deborah (Tim) Maloney and John (Linda) Travison. 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, his brother; Holly Ray (Dianna) Brooks and his dog, Ree. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Shirley Scruggs and second wife of 29 years, Natalie Brooks.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, 11 to 1 (with a Mason & Eastern Star Ceremony at 12:30) at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. The funeral service will begin at 1 o'clock.
