Billie Ray Newland

Billie Ray Newland 73 of Martinsville, IN passed away October 21, 2013. He was an Inspector in Metal Finish at GM Truck and Bus for 35 years retiring in 2002. He served in the U S Army during Viet Nam. He graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis, IN where we was on the Wrestling Team and there gained the nickname of "Santa Claus Newland' . He was an avid Colts fan, even prior to them moving to Indianapolis and stayed faithful in cheering them on. He is survived by his wife, Patsy, children, Richard Allen Newland, Kendra Steele, Steven Leep, Angela Linares, Gina Holland, mother, Leota Newland, sister, Darlene (David) Brunner, brothers, Marvin (Susan), Dennis (Connie), Myron, Tony(David) Newland, grandchildren, Steve, Chris, Kyla, Shawnda, Leah, Lauren, Justin, Tori, Samantha, Brandy, Amanda, Alexandria, Austin "Tex", great grandchildren, Mya, Colton, and Mya. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Newland, brother, Scott and grandson, David. Services will be Friday October 25, 2013 11 A.M. at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur with visitation there Thursday October 24th 4-8 PM.
