Bill M. Yates

Bill Morrison Yates was born on August 7, 1935, to parents Benny Lee Yates and Lalla B. Moore in Earlington, KY. His formal education began in Alton, Il, and was continued in Indianapolis, IN, and concluded in Earlington, Ky with his high school graduation.

At about the age of 9, Bill professed a hope in Christ, and was enjoined in membership with the Mt, Zion Baptist Church in Earlington, KY.

After high school graduation, Bill relocated to Indianapolis, where he entered into Holy Matrimony with his first wife and classmate, Viola Young Yates. To that union were born three sons, Sheldon LeMoine, Randall LeVern, and Brinton Linell Yates. The union of Bill’s first marriage was blessed to span 48 precious years.

Bill was predeceased by his first wife Viola "Little Choice" Yates in 2001, and his middle son Randall "Randy" Yates in 2012.

Bill’s employment began with 12 years at the Army Finance Center, and was followed by 36 years at Chrysler. During Bill’s work tenure at Chrysler, he was also in the Life Insurance business for 20 yrs, and retired from that business as a CLU.

On May 21, 2005, Bill re-entered Holy Matrimony with his present wife, Faye Gill Yates. This union has never ceased to be a continually blissful and mutually refreshing experience throughout its 21-year history for both of its partners.

In his later years, Bill became an avid Bible student with an insatiable appetite for the truth of God’s Word, which became his favorite pastime, and the objective of his focus for study.

Bill Morrison Yates can be easily remembered as a dedicated hard-working husband and father, who was friendly natured, easily approachable, and seemed to have a natural tendency for wanting to be helpful toward others. He also maintained a strong allegiance to His God, His spiritual Values, his family, and his marital relationships.

Bill Morrison Yates departed this life on August 15, 2026 and was blessed to have had an earthly presence that spanned 91 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Faye C. Yates, two sons, Sheldon (Carol), and Brinton, one daughter, Whitley J. Yates, one stepson, Jeffrey (Cynthia) Hughes, two stepdaughters, Shelly (Lloyd) Brewer and Bridgitt (Carlos) White, 16 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
