William “Bill” Erle Lorch, 80, of Indianapolis, Indiana, went home to be with Jesus on December 31, 2023. He was born on June 5, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana, to parents, William Lorch and Marjorie (Shultz) Lorch.

On April 20, 1963, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Bill married his Jr. High sweetheart, Sharon (Marsh) Lorch, spending a loving and dedicated 60 years of adventures together.

Bill's life was a testament to his unwavering devotion to Jesus and his profound love for his family. He embraced the teachings of Christ with an open heart and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his faith. Attending church was not just a routine for Bill; it was a cherished part of his life where he found solace, guidance, and community. He also was passionate about his mission work as well.

One passion that brought Bill immense joy was wood carving. Carving wooden crosses to make charitable donations was something Bill loved to do in his spare time. His craftsmanship revealed not just skill but also the love he had for spreading goodness in the world. Being part of the Circle City Carver's Group further fueled his creativity and allowed him to connect with other like-minded individuals who shared his passion.

Alongside his spiritual pursuits and woodcarving endeavors, Bill shared an unbreakable bond with Max, his loyal and cherished canine companion. Their friendship was something truly special – a bond of unconditional love that brought immeasurable happiness to both their lives.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon Lorch; children, Rick (Traci) Lorch, Scott (Amy) Lorch, and Jason (Nicole) Lorch; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kyle) Grubb, Victoria (Matt) Imhoff, Jackson Lorch, Emily Lorch, Caroline (Grant) Larimore, Natalie Lorch, Olivia Lorch, William Lorch, Sophia Lorch, and Eloise Lorch; great-grandchildren, Hendrix and Burkeley Grubb; siblings, Tom Lorch and Beth (Norm) Thompson.
