Beverly, age 80, officially called “Bonnie,” and affectionately known as “Gram” was born April 8, 1939, in Indianapolis IN, to the late Oscar Donahue and Lois Crowe. She was the eldest sibling of 7 brothers and sisters.
She attended Crispus Attucks and graduated with the historical class of 1956 with many of the Indianapolis greats. She led several school clubs and enjoyed playing the bass fiddle in the school orchestra. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 8, 1964. She was in the full time ministry for five years from 1978-1983. She attended Grandview, Washington Park, Forest Manor, Arlington Heights and Meridian Congregations of Jehovah Witnesses.
She was united in marriage to Charles Harvey Sr. for 24 years and after his death in 1987, married Orville Bennett in 1994 until her death. She was a school bus driver and safety trainer for the Indianapolis Public schools system for over 10 years.
Bonnie was known for her selflessness, sense of humor, devotion to her God Jehovah, and her unlimited willingness to open her home for anyone. Bonnie was artistic, creative, and she loved to write poetry and draw.
She always took time to play games with her kids and grandkids. On occasion she would sew and make school play costumes for them and assist with creative school projects. Back in the day, “Sister Harvey” was known for piercing every ones ears, that would let her get close, using the old fashion method of a burned needle and thread.
As her health declined she continued to look for ways to give to others. For example, for the 2014 International JW convention she made over 300 hand-made pencil and pen holders for the delegates, demonstrating her real passion was her love for Jehovah and the Kingdom ministry.
Preceding Bonnie in death are her parents, her sister Shirley Howard, her brothers Rodney Donahue and Gary “Danny” Crowe.
Bonnie leaves to cherish her loving memory to her husband, Orville and her four children, Dana Harvey-Broadus (Chuck), Darrin Williams (Jeff), Charles Harvey, Jr. and Dawn Harvey, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother Darryl Donahue, sisters Julie Donahue, Karen Crowe, and Rhonda Crowe-Downs and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins family and friends.
We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts and support during this most difficult time. We thank all the friends that called and visited our Mother. We greatly appreciate your love, kindness and support bestowed upon our family. We thank everyone for all the gifts, encouragement, and sharing your memories of our Mom. We thank Momma for her legacy that she left for us to follow.

Beverly Donahue Harvey Bennett
Of all God’s creations He made, there’s none so complexing. Soft and gentle as a warm spring shower, with strength and moral power mixing. Her charm and beauty, with endless imagination, only exceeding by her inner beauty and growth with duration. An emotional being, she most truly is that, cry at sorrow, cry for happiness, or just because, at a drop of a hat. Communication skills superbly or unique, she can carry a conversation with multiple peers while other ventures seek.
Demanding her attention are distinguishing sound and smells; a baby’s cry, a boiling pot, just to mention a few. Capable of a mother, counselor, teacher, nurse, lover and friend, of her many talents there is almost no end. This fragile one God created, a weaker one He said, so He gave her a little more protection, He gave her a spiritual head.
So uniquely this creature, so happy that I am she. Happy that Jehovah God made a strong woman like me.
