Beverly Ethel Mercer

Beverly Ethel Mercer, 81, passed away on July 10, 2026. She was born on July 8, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to John and Betty Petrakis.

Beverly dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse in home health and oncology, offering comfort and skilled care to countless patients and families. When she wasn’t working, she loved creating beautiful needlepoint projects, enjoying an afternoon shopping, and could often be found with a good mystery novel. Agatha Christy was among her favorite authors. Beverly will be missed by those who loved and knew her.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents John and Betty Petrakis. She is survived by her children Carol (Steve) Nevitt, John (Aileen) Totty, Jennifer Allan; as well as 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside celebration of life at 10:00am on Wednesday July 29, 2026, at Washington Park Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
