Beverly Hiller Hartig, 54, passed away July 4th, 2023. It is only fitting she received her heavenly freedom from her battle with Huntington’s Disease on our Nation’s Independence Day. She was born July 10th, 1968, in Evanston, Illinois and grew up with her parents Richard “Dick” and Dorothy (Schmitt) Hiller and brother Mark.
Beverly graduated from Johnsburg High School in Illinois, where she excelled as an athlete and cheerleader. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa.
She had an impressive, decorated career at Arrow International in pharmaceutical and medical sales, where she was awarded Salesperson of the year.
On October 11th, 1997, Beverly married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Hartig. They shared 26 wonderful years together and moved all around the country before settling down in Indianapolis. They welcomed two beautiful children Kathryn and Ryan.
In 2007, Bev courageously decided to share her story and establish The Bev Hartig Huntington’s Disease Foundation. Her spirit and her tireless devotion to her mission of educating, funding and believing in a cure will live on forever. The Bev Hartig Huntington’s Disease Foundation has raised millions of dollars to hopefully uncover a treatment or a cure for this horrific disease.
Beverly was an impressive athlete throughout her life, excelling in softball, volleyball, co-ed flag football, track, gymnastics, and so many more. She enjoyed staying active and competing with her husband Bob in many different sports. She and Bob loved to travel, spending time at the sunny beaches of Hawaii and Italy, and the scenic Pacific Northwest. Beverly was a selfless, compassionate woman, with a smile that would light up the room. Beverly was an adoring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Beverly is survived by her husband Bob Hartig; their children: Kathryn and Ryan Hartig; her mother, Dorothy, and sibling, Mark (Alicia) Hiller. Bev is also survived by her birth family: her birth mother, Deb Keisler; siblings Mark Keisler and Claire (Quin) Leonard; and nieces and nephews Haley (Dom), Morgan, Luke, and Abigail.
Bev is preceded in death by her father Dick Hiller and her birth father Neil Keisler.
Visitation for Beverly will be Tuesday July 11th, at Flanner Buchanan Geist, from 4-8pm.
Her funeral mass will be Wednesday July 12th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Geist, at 11am.
A reception at FoxGardin Family Kitchen 10410 Olio Rd, Fishers will follow.
