Beverly Joan Doughty

Beverly Joan (VanCleave) Doughty, 92, of Indianapolis passed away March 8th, 2024. She was born January 19th, 1932, in New Market, Indiana to the parents of Carl and Geraldine VanCleave.

Beverly graduated high school in 1950 at George Washington High School. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to sing and had a voice like Doris Day. She loved bowling and was a fabulous cook. Her green beans were the best anyone had ever tasted. Being a wonderful mother, she was always involved with her kids sports and activities. In her younger years, Beverly did some modeling for Ajax in the 1950’s.

Beverly’s kindness and love towards her family and friends will always be remembered fondly by all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply loved and cherished by many.

Beverly was survived by her children; Gary (Lynn) Bryant, Larry (Kellie) Bryant, Linda (Tom) Sercu, Mark (Teresa) VanderMeulen, Robert (Linda) VanderMeulen. Her grandchildren; Bianca Wagner, Craig Walsh, Jessica Walsh, Gracie VanderMeulen, Nicklas VanderMeulen.  Her 2 great grandchildren; Garrett and Connor.

Beverly was preceded in death by her wonderful parents Carl and Geraldine VanCleave. Her loving husbands; Charles Bryant, Robert N. VanderMeulen, Johnsy C. Breeden, and William Doughty. Her grandson; Kyle VanderMeulen. Her brothers; Bob, Jim and Bill.

Beverly’s visitation will take place 12-2pm on March 15th, 2024, with funeral service to follow at 2pm Memorial Park-Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center, 9350 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Beverly will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.
