Obituary

Beverley Ann Becker Dufek (née Young) passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, in Fishers, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 16, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Beverley’s life was marked by devotion to her family and a spirit of warmth, intelligence, and care that touched everyone who knew her.

Beverley began her journey in Indianapolis as the beloved daughter of Earl C. Young and Helen Ida Young. She continued her education after high school by attending Purdue University, an experience that shaped her drive for knowledge and her keen intellect—a quality so often remarked upon by friends and family alike.

Though Beverley’s career was devoted to being a housewife, those closest to her know she approached this role with exceptional energy, humor, and love. Raising her family was her proudest accomplishment, and she poured herself into every aspect of their lives. She had a great sense of humor and a loving, nurturing presence, always watching over those she cared for and offering support, kindness, and wisdom.

Beverley loved to travel and found joy in adventures both near and far. Summers brought cherished family trips to Florida, creating memories on golden beaches and under sunny skies. Her enthusiasm for exploring extended to journeys abroad, including a memorable trip to Spain and exciting cruises. She also relished time at the racetrack and treasured her experiences at the iconic Indy 500, places and moments where laughter and stories flourished.

Those who survive Beverley carry forward her legacy of compassion, intelligence, and heartfelt warmth. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Roger Becker, and Steve Becker (with Jennifer Chadwell); her step-daughters Jill Weisenbach, Jenny Hilton, and Janet Flynn; and her step-son Jeff Dufek. Her grandchildren—Chad Becker, Austin Becker, Holly Martin, Christopher Flynn, Lucy Weisenbach, Haley Weisenbach, and Anna Huffman—each held a special place in her heart, as she did in theirs.

Beverley was preceded in death by her dear son Brian Becker, her cherished husbands Charlie Becker and Bob Dufek, her sister Patricia Bolander, and her parents, Earl C. Young and Helen Ida Young.

Friends and family are invited to honor Beverley’s life at a visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the same location.

Beverley Ann Becker Dufek’s caring spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all whose lives she graced. Her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
