It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beulah "Lou" Lovellia Prunty, 88, of Indianapolis on March 23, 2026. Lou was born July 3, 1937, in Grafton, West Virginia, to parents William and Beulah (Lampert) Whitescarver.
Lou was raised in Prunty Town, West Virginia, as the oldest of six children. She married Late Mortimer B. Prunty on June 13, 1959, and moved to Indianapolis.
Lou had four children. She loved her family and the Lord. She was always involved with children, whether teaching Sunday school, Bible school, or helping with daycare. She was a member of Heather Hills Baptist Church since 1965 where she was in the choir and sang in many Cantadas.
Lou is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Elaine Brown (2/2019), brother "Dick" Richard (8/2007), and granddaughter Carly Olivia (2005).
Lou is survived by her children: Tamera (Kenneth) Williams, Jeffrey Prunty, Laura Prunty, and Paul (Sally) Prunty; grandchildren: Dominic, Justin, Danielle (Chris), Chelsey (Doug), Donovan, Zachary (Pamela), Desiree (Josh), Tyler, and Christian; sister Frankie DeVart, brothers William Jr. Whitescarver and Garry Whitescarver; and great-grandchildren: Layla, Jace, Paige, Saline, Brayden, Samuel, Jaxson, Hunter, and Jameson.
Lou's services will be held at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229). Visitation will be held Monday, March 30, from 3pm to 8pm. An additional visitation will be available on Tuesday, March 21, from 10am to 11:30am, with services to follow at 11:30am.
