Betty Jo "BJ" Watson

Betty Jo Watson, 89, left this world peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on June 29th, 2026. Betty was affectionately known as BJ. She was born October 30th, 1936, to parents Earl and Betty (Zinsmeister) Thomas, in Washington, DC.

Betty graduated from, Arsenal Technical High School on July 31,1953.

On April 14,1956, she married the love of her life, Robert T. “Bob” Watson. They shared many wonderful years together, traveling the country, and growing their family.

As a young woman, BJ worked at Sears, downtown Indianapolis. After her three children were born, she became a stay at home mom.

Betty enjoyed landscaping, flowers, and decorating for the holidays. BJ was a bright, loving woman. She took pride in her home and enjoyed decorating for the different seasons and holidays.

She is survived by her son Richard (Debbie) Watson; and Henry the dog. Along with her daughter Suzzanne, and son David.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert “Bob” Watson.
