Betty Jane Russell Robertson

Betty Robertson, 94, went to be with her Lord on October 24, 2023. She was born in Tipton, Indiana and lived most of her young years in Frankfort, Indiana, graduating in 1947.

She met a returning veteran, Doris E. (Robbie) Robertson, at the Frankfort skating rink in May of 1947 and knew it was love at first sight. She always said he was just the cutest guy! And he adored her until his death in 1999.

After they married on June 24, 1947, they moved to Indianapolis, where Robbie became a locksmith on the GI Bill.

They welcomed a daughter, Susan, in August of 1948 and a son, Michael, in April of 1953. Betty was a devoted partner in everything they did. After Robbie started his own business, she became his bookkeeper, secretary, and his greatly valued right hand. They never spent a night apart in their 52 years together unless one of them was in the hospital.

Betty was an avid homemaker. She loved decorating her home, raising her children, working in her flowers and garden, and just enjoying making a lovely home for her family.

After her husband died, she moved to her beloved condo. She enjoyed her monthly pitch-in dinners and her Tuesday night card parties.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Doris, son Michael Robertson, grandson Mike Robinson, and great-grandson Brantley Davidson.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Robinson (Joni Craner); daughter-in-law Bonnie Robertson; grandchildren Corey Robertson, Bill (Sarah) Robinson, Jessica Tidd (Donnie Davidson), and Clayton Robertson; and great-grandchildren Jayce Kilgore, Zeke Robinson, Julie Tidd, and Jeremiah Robinson.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
