Betty Petzel

Betty J. Petzel 85, of Indianapolis, passed away September 4, 2013. Betty was born in Indianapolis, to the late George and Ruth (Castor) Malott. Betty graduated from Shortridge High School and Butler University with a degree in business. She was a proud member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and a member at Geist Christian Church. In 1951, Betty married Robert (Bob) Petzel, and together they shared a life of travel and a love of sports. Together, they were longtime season ticket holders to the Colts as well as the Butler Bulldogs. Betty is survived by her husband, two nieces; Sharon Rickey and Patricia Haynes, three great- nephews; Ryan and Brad Rickey, and Richard Haynes, and 5 great great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; George and William Malott. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 1 to 5 pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple 1305 East Broad Ripple Ave. Funeral services will follow on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
