Betty Norris of Indianapolis Indiana passed away on December 9, 2024. Born in Mill Springs, Kentucky, to William and Eliza (Burris) West, Betty was always one to share her vibrant love for her homeland with family and friends.
Betty retired from Colorcon in 1988, where she had been the Office Manager for 10 years. Betty, with her husband John Norris, retired to Bradenton, Florida for 25 years before returning to Indianapolis.
The only thing Betty loved more than Chick-Fil-A nuggets and Vanilla Oreos was her family. She never missed attending a grandchild’s birthday or attending her weekly luncheon of Chinese food with her son. She will be remembered as being spunky, feisty, funny and for her love of adventure. Before her courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Betty was known to write rap songs about her colonoscopy, gab for hours on the phone with her aunts or head out with her friends for Pizza King Friday.
Betty, (AKA G.B., Gangster Biker or Granny Betty) was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Norris, brothers Bobby and David West, favorite Aunts Ethel Mills and Ina Hughes as well as a grandson Eric Morris.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Rebecca) Morris, grandchildren Meghan Morris, Sarah (Dylan) Nagle, Haley Morris, Wil Morris, and Evan Morris, and great-grandson Devon Nagle.
A private service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, Beech Grove, Indiana.
