BETTY LOUISE (BROWN) HYLTON, 1925-2021
Devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many passed away peacefully August 11, 2021. Betty was born September 2, 1925 in Derry, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Annetta (Tepper) Brown. She was married to Arthur Burdine Hylton in 1955 and remained so until his passing in 1999.
Betty graduated from an LPN nursing program and worked for St. Vincent’s hospital, retiring in 2005. Betty was an active member of her community. She participated in a water aerobics class and a bridge club. She volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul and St. Augustine Guild. Betty also belonged to Psi Iota Xi (Eta Delta Chapter) Service Sorority.
Betty is survived by her 3 sons Mark Hylton of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tom (Annie) Hylton of Loveland, Ohio, and Michael (Roxanne) Hylton of Fishers, Indiana, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday August 28, 2021 at the Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN. Viewing will begin at 9:30 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. Following the memorial service, there will be a committal service for family only.
Family requests all attendees to be vaccinated and masked.
