She was the daughter of Nathan and Louise Jones of Jacksonville, Fla. Betty studied fine arts at William & Mary College and was an active visual artist, showing her work at various regional festivals. A voracious reader and international traveler, she was active in the Asian Art Society with the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She worked in the graphic design department of L.S. Ayres and in sales with the Accent Shop. Betty was preceded by her husband of 54 years, Joseph A. Caparo, in 2007. She is survived by her brother and sister, John P. Jones and Sarah J. Harvey, and her sons Daniel (Kathy) and Joseph (Angela). The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Indianapolis, where friends may call one hour prior to the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Joseph A. Caparo' 81, died January 3, 2007. A loving friend and father, he was the youngest son of Dr. Jose and Elizabeth Caparo' of South Bend. He studied at Notre Dame and Indiana Universities. A WWII and Korean veteran, he taught and coached at Warren, Beech Grove and Creston schools. He served Indiana for over 35 years as Program Director with the American Lung Association, where he designed and implemented the first statewide smoking withdrawal clinics. A Phi Delta Kappa, he lobbied for respiratory public health issues at the Indiana General Assembly and was President of numerous organizations including the Torch Club, the Indiana Council on World Affairs, and the Asian Arts Society. He traveled and lectured internationally and enjoyed many happy years with his family. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 54 years, and his sons Joseph (Angela) and Daniel (Kathy). Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan 8 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Indianapolis, with calling one hour prior.
