Betty Jeanne Ford left this life on earth to live with her Lord on October 31, 2015. She was born on October 11, 1924 to Joseph Jean and Ethel Goar in Tipton, IN. She was a graduate of Tipton High School Class of 1942, and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. Her work included private duty nursing, Western Electric, and Community Hospital East where she worked for 27 years. She started the IV Team there in 1963. Betty was also a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader before starting her nursing career at Community Hospital. After retirement she was a Pink Lady Volunteer in the gift shop at Community East. She also volunteered as a Community Hospital Clown (Figit), was a member of the Capitol City Sweet Adelines, Eastern Star Prospect Chapter 452, and Womens Moose Chapter 17. Betty and her husband, David entertained with the Yesterways Revue, Showtime Entertainers, Cavalcade of Dancers, and the Continentals of the Continental Dance Club. After retirement from Community Hospital East she worked at J.C. Penney Washington Square. Betty enjoyed golf, oil painting, gardening, dancing, and playing bridge. Her most important life experience was caring for her husband, family and friends.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, David of 52 years; daughter Debbie Sutton (Mike); sister Nancy Cole; grandchildren Jennifer Woodlock (Tim) and Jeff Sutton (Marilu); great grandsons Zachary, Logan, Hunter, and Corbin Woodlock; 4 step children; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ICUs at Community East and North Hospitals and Community Home Hospice for their loving care of Betty. We would also like to thank Dr. Anuj Agawala and Dr. Arun Gowdamarajan for their care and compassion enabling her to have a good quality of life during the journey of her illness.

Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington, Indianapolis with visitation 10 AM until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.
