Betty Jean Nicewanger

Betty Jean Nicewanger 95, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 22, 2019. She was born January 15, 1924 in Indianapolis to Alma (Sheets) and Lawrence (Lefty) Newbold. She was a member of Lawrence United Methodist Church. She was a clerk with the Center Township Trustee’s office in the 40s and a dental assistant to Dr. Sheldon Hall. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Nicewanger, and sister Ruth Greenwald. She is survived by her sister Mary Louise Tomlinson and children: Steve (Mary Paula) Nicewanger, Janet (Jim) Carter and Robin Nicewanger. Betty has 4 grandchildren; Andrea, Amy, Mary Beth and Chris. She has 9 great-grandchildren; Seth, Graysen, Estella, Levi, Francesca, Vivian, Cleo, Daphne and James. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral Services will begin immediately afterwards at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery in the main mausoleum. Memorials in Betty’s name may be made to the American Heart Association or Lawrence United Methodist Church (5200 N. Shadeland Ave., Indpls, 46226).
