Betty Jane Hardesty

May 25, 1932 — February 24, 2015

Betty Jane Hardesty, 82, Carmel, formerly of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away February 24, 2015. She was born May 25, 1932, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Olive (Leonard) Amari. Betty was a 1950 graduate of Broad Ripple High School. She retired from the Marion County Extension Office. She was a former Camp Fire Girl Leader; and she enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing table games, having a "Girl's Day Out", but especially her three grandsons school and sporting events. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard L. Hardesty; children, Karen L. (Michael) Vibbert, John A. (Melanie) Hardesty, LeAnn (Glenn) Martin; and grandchildren, Scott and Jeff Vibbert, and Sam Hardesty. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the funeral home.
