Betty Irene Whitaker

Betty Irene Whitaker, 88, of Knightstown, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017. She was born in Whiteland, IN to the late Floyd and Phoebe (Dauber) Dallas. Betty was a graduate of Howe School and married Jesse Whitaker in 1949; they celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage before his death in 1999. Betty enjoyed farming and gardening; but she was most proud of being a wife and mother to her 6 sons. She is survived by her sons, Randy, Bruce, Scott, Roger and Doug (Sandi) Whitaker; and 6 grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; son, Keith Whitaker; siblings, Bernard Dallas, Nina Ellis and Erma “Sis” Spencer. Services will be private with burial to follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East.
