Betty H. Ferrell

Betty H. Ferrell, 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on April 22, 2023. She was born on October 26, 1934, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, to parents, Daniel Thompson and Emily (Lyons) Thompson.

Betty was a very special woman who was loved by many but none more than her husband, Glen whom she was married to for 39 years. Together they enjoyed traveling, long drives in the country and their home in Florida where she spent time and fellowship with the Red Hat Society. Betty was affectionately called ‘Grammy’ by her many grandchildren and loved spending time with all of them, her many friends and her poodle, Winston. She liked completing her crossword puzzles every morning with her coffee and making special handmade gifts for her family using her skills of embroidery/cross stitch/sewing and quilting. Betty also enjoyed taking care of her beautiful flower beds and watching the cardinals and hummingbirds that came to feed and visit her home.

Betty was surrounded in life by loving husband, Glen W. Ferrell; daughters, Debbie Wells, the late Denise Ludlum and Linda Gilliatte; stepchildren, Gene Ferrell, Dana Mingua and Steven Ferrell; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and loving friends who were like family.

Visitation for Betty will be from 12-1pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East – 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, with a funeral service immediately following at 1pm. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery. A ‘Celebration of Life’ for Betty will be planned at a later date.
