Betty Sue Ashley, 88, Indianapolis, slipped away June 9, 2012 with family at her side. She was born June 2, 1924, in Bristow, IN, the daughter of Claude R. and Lola B Martin.
Betty was a loving wife, a beloved mother, an adored grandmother, a cherished mother-in-law, a favorite aunt, a loyal sister and a trusted friend. She was a homemaker for much of her life, but worked outside the home as well, retiring from Kittles Furniture after 22-years of service. She enjoyed genealogy and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by Richard F. Ashley, Jr., his wife Caitilin and son R. Fredrick III, "Fritz" of Indianapolis and David W. Ashley, his wife Ann Pike Ashley and daughters Hannah Marie, Emma Olivia and Reegan Harper of Lapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Ashley Sr. and siblings Robert Martin, Allegra Zoercher, Mary Mason and Eugenia Keith.
Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue.
