Bessie Jane Taylor

Bessie Jane Taylor, 77, of Indianapolis, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2021. She was born June 27, 1943 in Mount Vernon, Kentucky to the late Melvin Troas and Janie Katherine (Payne) Carlton. Bessie accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the tender age of 9 years old and continued trusting and serving him until her passing. She dearly loved spending time and caring for her family and will be truly missed by all. Bessie is survived by her children Bobby Taylor, Timothy (Sherry) Taylor, Priscilla (Jim) Hamilton, Pamela (Les) Johnson and Thomas Taylor, grandchildren Cassandra, Heather, Christina, Brian, Brandon, Aaron, Caleb, Kayla, and Justin, great grandchildren Madison, Jordan, Drew, Wesley, and Carter, sisters Judy Shopher and Charlotte McDonough, and brothers Eugene Carlton, Paul Carlton and Michael Carlton. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carroll Gene Taylor, whom she married on May 12, 1960, and her brother Carl Carlton. Services will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township with visitation there Tuesday, June 8, 2021 4:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, June 9, 2021 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.  Bessie will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, Indiana following the service.
