Bessie Mae Earls

Greenwood, Indiana – Bessie Mae Earls, 96, passed away on January 16, 2024. Bessie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 19, 1927, and raised by her caring and loving, adoptive parents, Donald and Wilma (Vandivire) Campbell. 

Bessie worked for many years as a salesperson specializing in woman’s accessories for various retail outlets.  She loved selling purses and would always notice and let you know if she loved the purse you were carrying.   More than work though, Bessie just lived. Her favorite times were listening to music and dancing, playing cards or bingo with her friends.

 More than anything else though, Bessie loved her family, and especially her great-grandchildren. She loved getting together to celebrate birthdays and holidays or just having lunch together. 

 In addition to her parents, Bessie is preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Collins.

 Bessie is survived by her son-in-law, Harold Collins, granddaughter, Lora Andrews (Brian), and her great-grandsons, Jeff and Ben Andrews.

 A funeral service will be held at graveside in Washington Park East Cemetery on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2 pm. Attendees will gather at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East Funeral Home prior to processing to the cemetery.
