Bessie Boekankamp

Bessie Boekankamp 85, passed away on Tuesday August 12, 2014. She was a 1947 graduate of Washington HS in Washington, IN, where she was born and raised. Bessie was a homemaker, an avid quilter and a member of the Greenfield Night Owl Quilt Guild. Survivors include her loving husband, Paul, of 65 years; children: Karen Eddy (Larry), Gerald (Carol), Dianne, William, Janet Cridlin (Nick), Carol Reed (David), and Robert (Cheryl); 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her loving, devoted sister, Doris Harbstreit. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Taft; granddaughters, Heather & Samantha Eddy; sisters, Cora Austin and Lora Trosper; and parents, Lawrence & Clara Lashbrook. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 1-3pm with services following at Flanner and Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Good Shepherd Chapel, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2837 E. New York Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201.
