Bernard Paul (Bud) Marquiss, 87, Carmel, IN, was born near Albion, IN in Noble County to Otis and Fay Marquiss on December 5, 1923 and died on October 4, 2011.
He was a graduate of Albion High School and served briefly in the U.S. Army. He worked for Producers Marketing Association (owned by Indiana Farm Bureau until 1994) for 28 years, moving with his wife and family to Indianapolis in 1954. He briefly worked for Hughey Construction Co.and Wright, Porteous and Lowe, Architects, both of Indianapolis, before joining Engledow, Inc., of Indianapolis, where he worked in marketing for 15 years until his retirement in 1986.
Mr. Marquiss was a charter member of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and clerk of the session. He was also a long-time member of the chancel choir and attended Saturday morning Men's Bible Study Class for many years.
Mr. Marquiss was also a charter member of the Carmel Golden K Kiwaniis Club, of which he was program chairman and president.
After his retirement, Mr. Marquiss volunteered at Carmel St. Vincent Hospital and helped maintain the grounds of at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church for more than 20 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlene (Brown) Marquiss, in June, 2011. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Gregory P. and Carol Marquiss, daughter and son-in-law Susan and Michael Andrews, and grandchildren, Nicholas Paul and Kristen Nicole Marquiss. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 7, 2011 at 11:00 am at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Carmel; where friends and family are invited to gather from 9:30 am till time of services. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 1605 E. 106th St., Indianapolis, IN 46280
