Benjamin (Ben) Alexander Wade died unexpectedly from a previously unknown health condition on Tuesday Dec. 2nd, 2025 at the age of 14. Born Oct. 11th, 2011 in Indianapolis, IN to his loving parents Jonathan and Victoria Wade, Ben was a student at the International School of Indiana. Although the span of Ben’s life may seem short when measured in years, his generous loving spirit and humor was incredibly impactful to so many. Ben is remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, classmate, teammate, and friend to many.
Ben was an exceptional student with a strong passion for science and math. From a young age Ben had a curious mind, and developed an encyclopedic knowledge of complex topics such as the nature of the universe. Ben loved to share interesting facts with friends and family about many diverse topics including science and chemistry. He also loved many different sports, including soccer and rugby. While Ben excelled at academics and sports, he also loved engaging in thoughtful conversations and genuinely loved getting to know new people. Ben had a mischievous sense of humor and loved making others smile.
One of Ben’s greatest joys in life was his close relationship to his younger brother Samuel (Sam) Wade. Born less than 2 years apart, Ben and Sam shared a bond that carried them through many adventures. Over the course of growing up together, Ben and Sam’s shared love of sports, gaming, movies, fishing, and spending quality time with family and friends continued to bring them closer together. Together they had the opportunity to take many journeys to unforgettable destinations across the world such as their beloved Costa Rica, surfing throughout the world, and of course to their second homeland the United Kingdom to visit cherished family.
Funeral Services will be held at North United Methodist Church, 3808 N. Meridian Street, in Indianapolis IN at 3:00 pm on Friday Dec. 12th. After the Friday service, the family invites you to gather at Ben’s beloved Indiana State Museum from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
The Indiana State Museum is a special place to Ben’s family, and was where Ben first developed his love of science and curiosity about the universe. On a recent starry night, Ben looked to the stars and asked his best friend Sam “I wonder if I came from there.”
